Hey I'm new to the site a friend directed me here, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section but bare with me..

I know the basics of making a dll hack for a game like the main code but I want to take it that step farther by changing to a different game that I want and adding my own features..

My friend that directed me here told me I had to debug the game to get lock crosshair offsetr and pointers. I want to know what these are used for in a hack why you need them and how to get them? Please help me UC this is the most knowledgable programming site i've seen yet for hacks so please help me

ok i've searched i found ollydbg I successfully debugged my chosen game(doom3) So now how do I find off sets and pointers well as he defined them lock crosshair offsetr Because honestly I'm not sure what I'm looking for I debugged and I see a whole bunch of different addresses..


Edit: Did some more searching with finding off sets and it seems the only thing i found that was what I was looking for was for cod so I need it for d3

I looked all over the forum about debugging and finding offsets and things like that and it's good tuts which helped me get really far but the codes and addresses are entirely different for finding them for doom3 that's why I was hoping to get a different set of instructions or guidance..

and sorry about the double posting but editing my post asking for a quick response wasn't getting anywhere so please help
