Roverturbo has just purchased a server for Team Fortress 2, which will be made as the official UC TF2 server. It has just been created, about an hour ago, so it has a very small population (0), but we are looking to improve that. Also, reliable admins are needed, as well as some ideas for potential maps, mods and events.
If you would like to apply for admin, please join the #unknowncheats IRC channel (for help, please see Come to IRC! ) and talk to Roverturbo or _XIII.
It current runs on stock rotation, minus all arena and several CTF maps. There are no mods installed. Hopefully we will get rtv and the likes included, in due time.
VAC is active, so we are not allowing cheating. "But this is a cheating site!" Yes, it is, but have you ever played on a server where half the team is using hacks? It isn't fun. Plus, we're trying to populate the new server, not shun it from existence. Now, when we say "hacking isn't allowed," we mean that you can't go around speeding and aiming (basically, the obvious stuff). We basically want a fair game, for all the UC members. We are not going to be anti-cheating Nazis about someone hacking, but if we ask you to stop, we would like you to do so (we will always give warnings before removal from the server, unless asked before). There will be times where you can hack, when given permission (which, during some events, would be welcome). Perhaps, at some point, we'll close the server to the public and have some UC members fight hacker vs. hacker. During the beginning, though, we ask that you do not hack. We're trying to give the server a good name, so we don't want people joining and finding someone speeding around.
If you do not already own TF2, we highly suggest it. The product is only $10-20 off steam/amazon. It is a great game, especially for those tired of "normal" FPS.
You can download the game to your computer, and play as soon as the download is done, by buying it off of steam:

Very nice, I will try to get Team Fortess asap.
Good luck with the server, I'm sure it will get popular quickly, especially if you get some unique mods.
No, but they give you an entire game for $20. That includes massive updates every 3~ months. These updates completely change the game play (adding new weapons, pick ups, game modes, maps, etc.) for free. The most recent update released new maps, a new game mode, and some new hats to find. This happened one week ago. Another update is expected within the coming months, giving new weapons to Demoman, Soldier, or Engineer (eventually all three).

This is not a bad looking, or out dated game. It is, essentially, a full-conversion Half-Life 2 mod. The graphics are great and the gameplay is even better. One part that sets TF2 away from other games is the immense detail given to characters. Essentially, you are not playing an FPS. You are playing a FPS/RPG. All the characters you choose to be have a personality, and are easily identified by it. The game itself has a marvelous sense of humor (and, you will find yourself laughing at parts of this game, such as the ability to throw a jar of urine at someone, causing them to take extra damage).
Also, the developers, Valve, have an outstanding amount of support for this game. Most of the updates released are community inspired, such as the one today, which is a community-made map change and a requested change to rocket jumping (which was a mistake, that has now been fixed). Or, the update a few days ago, which allowed a bug to be fixed--but, due to community demand, the bug has a console option to remain on.
I highly recommend TF2 (and this is from someone who really doesn't enjoy too many games for a long period of time). If you have a spare $10-$20 lying around, pick it up.

We'll set up a game later today/tomorrow to officially start the server up
