I noticed over the last couple months there have been some minor updates to the forum including different smilies and a slightly different layout for the site. I would like to know if it was possible to change the color template or even being able to use a custom color as the old ones are getting boring to me and it would be nice to see some new colors in posts here on the forum.
I think it's a cool idea,

It's possible to change the color templates without having to install a completely new theme.
They could be selectable duplicates of the same theme that just vary in color, like ucforum_dark, ucforum_light, ucforum_orange, etc.
But it would take some time to do it, I think you have to change the color of all the button images and stuff.
I like the current forum color and theme, don't have a problem with it.
But it would be a nice feature to add.
I have always liked dark or slightly darker themes. Main reason I am not getting any older, and my eye sight hasn't improved at all. . But I have never had an issue with it here.
Except for when people use fluorescent colors that are light. Usually I say piss on it and won't read it, or will highlight the txt to be able to read it.

i agree, we did make the changes, to try and give uc a freshlook and it was not very popular at all and in the end we hated it ourselfs.
so save your baby tears i am sure the default skin wont change.

Also, yeah, an OPTION to change skins for some users wouldn't be bad; however, leave the default skin as is. Other than that, options never hurt anybody.

I was thinking about this after i posted and began to realize that i was not clear on what i was asking. After reading the thread yes having the option for people to change the skin theme of the forum would be nice and the current theme would be nice to remain. The text color options is what I was actually talking about in my original post. I get bored with only having a handful of colors to choose from that actually show up that don't require like alk said having to highlight the text just to be able to read it. That is were the custom color I was talking about comes in. Where you would be able to choose your color off a palate like in photoshop when adding custom colors

Wasn't there some issue a few years back that we didn't add this option? As I had brought it up and either you or Hockeybuster informed me why we didn't go with the user option to change the theme?
As for my opinion, I like this theme we are currently using.
Our previous skin, i believe was a darker one as I made a banner for it.
UC has not had a dark theme that I can remember since it was 1st started on that free hosting crap.
But Zero, seems the reason during the time your asking about was because of banner issue. They did not want to switch to a theme that the banner did not work on. Also there is the fact of user group colors conflicting with a darker theme.

Thats not what I am referring to. I can't recall if it was Hockey or Rover but one of them had a reason as to why we didn't offer the user to pick which skin they were to use. I recall the situation as I was admin over at another forum that allowed us to choose between themes and thought it would be interesting to have over at uc.
If I remember the reason that was given I'll be sure to post it. It slips my mind though :/
