So, my laptop is inches from death ( ) and I'm looking to buy a new one. Not a desktop, a laptop (I need it for traveling back and forth). The problem is, though, that I'm terrible at laptops. I really don't know which is the best of, well, anything. I know that some of you guys are pretty decent at this stuff, so I'm here to ask for some aid.
I'm looking for a strong gaming laptop for under $2,000. Around $1,500 is really the sweet spot.
I need something with competitive graphics, a large hard drive (300gb+), and a hefty amount of ram (4gb +). I do not care too much about battery life, but I would ideally prefer something with over 2 hours battery life--that's not a real decision changer, though.
I've already looked into iBuyPower Battalion Touch CZ-10 (iBUYPOWER Computer :: Battalion Touch CZ-10 Notebook), the Battalion 101 W860CU Notebook (iBUYPOWER Computer :: Battalion 101 W860CU Notebook), and, rather embarassingly, the Alienware Mx15 (The Dell Online Store: Build Your System). I'm almost ashamed to admit that I like the Alienware best (I know, moneysink), but it has so far seemed to result in the best performance for the cheapest price (and best look). I've also checked out an ASUS from Newegg (my current laptop is an ASUS), but it was more money than the CZ with less.
Obviously there are other systems out there, I'm just not sure where to begin looking (googled a few, but the internet isn't very reliable). Do you guys have any input on a reliable system? Any input on why the ones I've linked are bad? +Rep to any real assistance given.
Thanks a lot.

I would say this is borderline hardware... however..
Since Dell bought out alienware, they are shit. Def no on that one.
The iBuyPower Battalion Touch CZ-10 was rated on the top 5 gaming laptops in 4th place, the others are over $4000. and ASUS would be by far the most reliable one. but from what i have heard iBuyPower is great too.

No one ever responds in hardware, and this is more of a "general" question.
Also, I don't agree with the whole "Dell owns this, thus it is shit." I know they have a ton of crap, but the amount of praise the M-whatever has received makes me question that ground

i see. just dell impots most their stuff from like.. indonesia... or something funny like that, rather then elsewhere. but i suppose a lot of companies do as well. But please note that dell will just load you computer up with shit that in 30 days will want you to register for a full version. and a bunch of bullshit. But i dunno.

I have a Dell XPS m1530 with a 300gb 10,000rpm hdd, and a 256mb nvidia card that i use for gaming...
Mine never came with any bloatware, but also i didnt add any software when i ordered mine.
the only dell laptop i have that came with with any kind of bloatware, was a dell inspiron that i bought few months ago, it had a dock like rocketdock.
if by bloatware, you mean 1 program that dell installs that checks for firmware and driver updates, you can disable it.
Edit: And the comment about imports... look at it this way, in many businesses where i work/live (silicon valley), almost all employees in the high tech industry are issued lenovo laptops, even though majority are old, they are lenovo, which is a chinese based company that purchased IBM's pc division. Its all about quality control when you outsource assembly/manufacturing

I agree with CME; don't get the Alienware. If you want something powerful like that, many companies make custom laptops that you can get for far less that are far superior. (That's what I did with my Toshiba.)
