Alright so wife drug her ancient laptop out of a box, damn thing is pathetic...
Demonstrating immense web browsing issues.. IE opens and does fuck all. Firefox opens and crashes...
So here I am trying to avoid a format of this prehistoric rig...
I have installed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware updated it.. Ran full scans.. Resolved 98 issues.. Installed Tune-Up Utilities 2010 updated it fully as well. Ran regi scans.... Resolved 987 issues... Ran viri scans nothing found....
Yet no matter what I try I can not get browsing ability to always work...
Now I can fuck with it for lets say an hour... Finally FF loads for a bit till it crasahes any where from oh..... 15-30 minutes of browsing...
Any ideas as to something I am over looking?
As I mentioned trying to avoid format on this one....
copy from irc for other people that might reference this thread in the future:

<@learn_more> try process explorer to view loaded modules / running processes
<@learn_more> smth like rootkit unhooker or icesword to check for rootkits
Check to make sure proper services are enabled & running. Also make sure proper drivers are running. Try doing the obvious (clearing cache, temps, and other wierd shit that could be residing in the registry or the system somewhere)
Run CCleaner
What exactly happens? You say it crashes, take the debugger approach and try to step through to see what's causing it to take fault & crash.
Try running Firefox in safemode (not Windows safemode, although you may want to try that as well, but safemode in firefox == without all the addon's, plugins and all the other 3rd party crap) It could be some plugin causing it to f up.
Also check Windows Event logs.
Also try to see what threads are also running in the background when you launch Firefox, atleast then you know the culprit of the problem.
Just kidding. I just wanted to bump this so you could respond to the other posts since they asked all the questions and suggested everything i was gonna suggest.
