Some time ago I created a video tutorial about manually unpacking Safedisc v3. It is in german language but I think even if you dont understand german you can watch it and learn a lot. The Tutorial is not very technical, I wanted to keep everything simple and I show you the easiest way.
Safedisc is already officially dead, so I don't think the company will bother about such tutorials. But Safedisc was used a lot some time ago, e.g. Call of Duty 1-5, Need for Speed, Civilization, etc. are protected by Safedisc.
The target here is Call of Duty 1 with safedisc v3.15.
Protection features:
- Anti-Debug
- Software Breakpoint Detection
- Imports Redirection
- Stolen Bytes
- Nanomites -> Safedisc Debugger (you know Armadillo?)
If you know how to unpack v3 then you can easily unpack v4. There are no really new features in SD v4. However I am currently working on the Safedisc v4 unpacking tutorial targeting CoD MW1. So if you want to wait, wait, but I don't know when I will finish it.
