I have been wondering why there has not been much public work on hooking DirectX10/11. Most of the newer games are moving to either or of the two. DirectX 9 will soon not be an option for newer games.
I was just wondering if the hooking/drawing methods like DIP/ES vTable are similar to DX9 and just need to be "found". Or is it a total different type of hook?

Ah, Yes. I will take a look when my PC finishes backing up.
Edit:
I am a bit confused, DirectX10 uses some different type of "table" Or maybe I am not seeing it. Many of the functions that I know exist are not in the same d3d10.h/SDK
In D3D9.h You have the list of methods, as TestCooperativeLevel, GetDirect3d etc. In 10, 10_1, x10. They seem to have "mini" functions instead of referenced methods.
50% of PCs are still using xp so its unlikely that dx9 will go out of fashion any time soon. 7% are using win7 for dx11 and like 14-20% are vista for dx10 sooo yeah... Theres your answer as to why its not popular =p
also this:
No off site linking, upload or post W/E here.
Them figures just reflect the OS used by idiots who do surveys? I would take them figures with a pinch of salt tbfh.
Well if you want more gaming oriented data heres from steam's current hw survey.
*Data is sampled from any steam user.
Code:
Windows XP 32 bit (-2.62%) 42.15%
Windows 7 64 bit (+3.89%) 19.50%
Windows Vista 32 bit (-1.62%) 19.09%
Windows 7 (+1.58%) 9.03%
Windows Vista 64 bit (-1.18%) 8.82%
Windows XP 64 bit (-0.01%) 0.63%
Windows 2003 64 bit (-0.07%) 0.57%
Windows 2000 (0.00%) 0.10%
Other (+0.02%) 0.10%
Still windows xp is the dominant system but also worth nothing that according to steam 48.94% are directx 10 compliant w/ a vista+ and a dx10 gpu. I guess dx10 has a chance in the future but looks like were not abandoning dx9 any time soon.
lol I always give false answers to serveys forced on to me.
