Ethereal Armour Bug

Some of you may or may not have heard of this so im going to post it. This bug basically allows an armour to recieve the ethreal 50% ed twice giving an armour a godly ammount of defence which is even more blatent when the armours runeworded.

First you need a ethereal armour (it has to be normal no superiors or any of that crap). Warning here make sure it comes from a high leveld monster or you could end up wasting the armour.

Next put it in the cube with a Thul rune,Tal rune and a perfect topaz (socketing formula) and transmute. The armour will gain sockets +50% enhanced defence. So you can get an archon with a starting defence of about 1100.

Then depending on the sockets (hopefully a 3 or 4) you can then runeword it. Here is a picture of a Stone in a bugged ethereal sacred armour. Be shocked!

Wow that's insane.... But is it worth it? I mean.... is 5k armor better than a Perfect enigma??

is an insane defence enigma worth more than standard enigma? Archon enigmas gliched in the same way can have up to 1832 defence. Negative is they are ethereal.

A stone is cheap to make, if i could find the base armour esily enough i wouldnt mind creating a new one every now and again. I think its worth it, a paladin wearing that + holy shield is probably untouchable. Equip them with that bugged in a shield turned into an exile and i can almost guarentee it (it reaches almost 1600-1800 defence in a vortex).

Lmfao, i tested this on single using only the exile bugged shield and the stone with all the required skills of a smiter (lvl 95). Guess his defence with those two pieces and holy shield...62k defence, i cant see any melee char hitting him except other smiters of course and casters.

Ive attached the save file so you can look at it yourselves.

And here is the exile + defence (and with a auto repair feature on the exile this is definitly worth considering)

edit: does it have to be etheral? and it is only body armor or can it also be shields and helms, etc?

it has to be ethereal yes, and it works on helms and shields but teh formula is different, you can get cubing formulas on http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/cube.shtml.

You cant use lazaruks quest reward to do this and the sockets gained is random and limited to the lvl of the monster who dropped it. For example if a quill rat dropped a sacred armour it couldnt get 4 socks and would be very unlikly to get 3.

so for example if baal drops (always drops ilvl 99) eth vortex shield then was chances would it be to get 3 sockets?

acctually if he dropped an eth vortex shield the chances would be something like this:
chance to get: 1-2 socks 1/16
3 socks 5/16
4 socks 10/16

Why would you want a 3 sock vortex shield? Its only usefull as a vortex if you can turn it into an exile.

lol for a exile that is soooo kick ass just made one for my smiter im makeing its rocks only down side is no +2skill but u can make that up with charms $$ indestructible makes it kick ass lol dont even see why theres a auto repair

exiles arnt indestructable its just to save time i auto made it on a character editor which does it anyway. But good choices for this bug are Prudence armour and exile shield because they both self repair and have high Enhanced Defence mods.

Just to tell you this bug wont work in weapons using the weapon socketing recipe. I tested this in the hope that it might be possible to create an insane damage breath of the dying. Sadly this wont work so dont go wasting your runes trying it.

The number of sockets created will vary. The item must be normal and unsocketed. Low-quality items and superior items do not work. The item gets 1-4 sockets, randomly. i never said it had to be ethereal to be socketed.....it has to be ethereal if you want the bug to work. Please read what i said in the method.
