I was wonder what programming language is needed for MOHAA I have been playing MOHAA for about 4 years now and I wanted to learn the language needed to hack MOHAA. If you have any good links to tutorial I would be grateful, I am currently in no clan do you know any hacking clans?.Please help me, I want to learn the language and keep MOHAA hacks alive. PEACE and muck love for the UC Downloads community.
Note: I am fifteen years old, does age matter when learning the programming language?
C++ and no age does not matter man. I know a guy who copy pasted shit for Americas Army for a long time at age 13. Today he is a very talented coder. He doesn't copy paste at all anymore, and probably has surpassed a good many guys he was copy pasting off of to begin with.
Now far as programming some do client hooks, some do d3d. Either way you would need to read some tutorials better understanding, and pick up a few eBooks or books from library however you wish.
Actually MOHAA is based off the Q3 & FAKK2 engines. It is an ogl based game.
What programs do you need to know? Whatever you desire. Majority of the hacks are written in c++, but that certainly doesn't mean you can't use any other languages. C++, imo seems to be the most used & most versatile, but I know for a fact you can write hacks in vb, asm as well as any other language for that matter.
As far as API, like I mentioned it's based on OGL, so you can write an OGL hack. There is a OGL wrapper floating around here that was made by Crusader to get you started. Unfortunately MOHAA never released its SDK, nor do I think it ever will, so any client hooking that is done would have to be done manually through reversing.
If you want to start easy, you may even consider in just doing what you can with pk3 modification. Don't feel discouraged to make mistakes. Alot of times you will run into errors and issues, but that's the foundation of learning.
Age never matters, infact the earlier you get into it the better it is.
It's also extremely important that you don't cheat just to cheat, but you do it for self education. The reason I say that is because cheaters that do it for self cheating typically don't get anything out of it aside from self gratification, but you get ALOT more from something if you learn to understand how it works. Don't do something just to do it, but put some motivation & enthusiation into your work. If you want to make something & keep the cheats alive so to say, then you need to create something original. Something that hasn't been done before. A good source of education is to have a neutral approach towards "stuff", so you're not biased towards one side.
Learn to exploit, but also understand how to fix the exploit.
Oh man, let me tell you about cheating, i got into hacking at 15, just downloading hacks and using them. then i turned 16 i used muhukos template to make my very first hack, i was excited. but now im 19 im out of college. I went to to school for game programming. now i am an entry level software designer, and developer in C++. Game hacking made me fall in love with programming, that is what hacking is about. hacking isnt about money or making noobs cry, i do it because with every hack i try to make , i have to ask a question to the fine people here at UC. and every single time.. i learned something new. and it doesnt apply to hacking, it applies to everytihng i do in programming, from design to debugging.
so age really is the younger the better, but what really matters is your determiniation. are you willing to read code, then research it to understand what its doing? thats what hacking is. Education.
as for langauges, why not learn them all, you probably wont, but go for it, learn as much as you can
C++, ASM, Delphi, VB, matlab <--- joke lol .. pick one stick with it, expand every chance you get

start small.. make console apps, then grow on it. you may like programming, and may become a programmer you never know
When you say you're out of college, you're referring to graduated from college with a BA, or an Associates? Cause if you graduated @ 19, you're some kind of prodigy.

i am 19 with an BA degree in game design and software design, I have an AS degree in computer Science, having learned about console apps programming, I am currently going for my masters degree in software engineering. I went to college when i was 17 and just graduated about 2 months ago, I am 19 now. I am not a prodigy lol. I am good at math so i was able to skip 11 classes because they were math related, i got out early

I was 19 with an associates degree, Graduated high school at age of 17. Yes much is possible..
Curious though how could you tell him ogl would be better than DirectX. This website is a gold mine for dx coders. He would also be able to find help at every corner on uc.
I know, I'm not saying for him to stay away from dx if he wants to program in it, he's more than welcome to do so, and you're right it seems this site is heavily focused in d3d, however if he plans on programming specifically for MOHAA, it won't do him any good since the game is based on the OGL API.
