This is reason is a little but I there are many reasons, it went down and then they created Resurectioninc.net but that went down because had nothing to do with cheating and many people lost interest

Virussss supposibly became anti cheat not sure if this was true
Puremayhem I think they said screw it cuz money
but if you want to really know you have to ask an old member ur best bet I would say is go to mpc and ask cookie monster or another member from the old days
