MOH:AA v1.12 Patch Information

Not sure how many of you know about this, but I have been working on a patch with some friends for quite some time. Here is some information that you may find interesting.

Currently implemented features:

AntiSTWH
sv_allowdownload(through external link or directly from server)
cl_allowdownload
sv_pure
cl_pure
Anti shoot through furniture, windows, lights
Anti Camp
Anti Landsharking
Undermap fixes
Several Crash fixes
Anti Recoil Fix
clienthooking & openGL protection
Anti Chams
Any pk3 modification (depending on server)


Still trying to implement:

Better voting system
Added Admin Controls
Stufftext Protection against modification
leave_team fix
lod_spawnlist fix
mohaabof & mohfill fixes

More ideas will come with time once beta is released!

How can it be official? The devs are too stupid to finish something they started so its up to the community I guess. Sure its 6 years old, but these forums as well as other forums are swamped with ppl and still players that keep coming back to play this game. It may not be official, but it doesnt make this just another worthless project like may other attempted. For example, if a server is running this patch, the client wont be able to join the server unless they download and install the patch too. So in a way it can be official.

The fact that EA didn't make something like this sooner? Yes I agree that is lame..
Releasing a patch for a 6 year old game.. I dont think thats lame. As I mentioned above many people still play this game. Sure I dont play it as often, but for me personally its a change, a learning experience and it will give me a good feeling knowing I made a positive change in a large community.. Not to mention when big companies look at your portfolio and you add to the portfolio a project you were working on that fixed up nearly half if not more glitches in a game created by EA.. I don't know about you.. but that strikes pretty big.

I haven't seen anyone else try anything like this.. so this will be a first time attempt.. but personally I think its FAR from being a lame one.

from my understanding, most of the developers from EA games left to go help with call of duty with activision before a patch could be made for mohaa, i have also heard rumors EA games was considering haveing PB on mohaa at one point. Sorry for flameing ur work, it was wrong and i should know that you have put alot of time and effort into this patch,, good luck and again sorry for the flame.

Iv'e heard the above too, how true it was.. who knows, but it never happened. We'll see what becomes of this.
