Hey guys, it's me again. I haven't posted here in a long time. Well, that's because I have not had any hacking problems or questions ... However, I have recently decided to start making my own STWH using the package provided in the download section (thanks to all those who have contributed to making it!!!). You probably think I'm crazy? 2 months or more of hard work? Yes, I am kinda crazy... and still... like good ol' Fairfax says in the movie Skyscraper (1997)... "What a small price for infinite power!..." 2 months is nothing, really. Plus, the real reason I'm doing it is for the challenge... to see if I could actually do it.

Anyhow, enough of my bullshit. I didn't come here to post threads that would waste your time reading them, I came with practical questions in mind. Here they are:

1. While acquiring the floor textures from the maps (from inside MOH:AA), I encountered a problem that probably most of those who have attempted to make the STWH have seen. Some floor textures are also used as wall textures, especially in Destroyed Village. So, it ultimately comes down to making a decision whether you wanna fall through the floor, or be able to shoot through the wall. However, I had an idea: Instead of making the +surfaceparm "nonsolid", why can't I make it "glass"? If this works, a player should be able to walk on the floors without falling through, and still be able to shoot through the walls just like through windows or untextured glitches. Can anyone (experienced) please tell me if this is a good idea or not? (and hopefully, why)

2. The tutorial mentions that in the case of textures used both for walls and for floors, you should go get the coordinates. However, it mentions nothing more, and I am rather stumped. If my idea about making the surfaceparm "glass" does not work, then what exactly am I supposed to do with the coordinates? I know the "getchshader" console command gives you some numbers, but I really don't know what they mean. How do you use them?

3. How do I build the map once I have completed adding the necessary lines to the brush textures? I mean, I will have to test my maps somehow, so I have to build them. But the tutorial only gets me to build the main .bsp files. Maps actually require 4 kinds of files: .bsp, .dcl, .min, and 2 .scr files. Where do I get the rest of them? Do I just copy them over from the pk3 packs? Or should they be re-built too?

Well, those are my questions. If anyone feels up to answering them for me, I will be immensely thankful! If they have been answered in one way or another, already, then please redirect me to that page instead of wasting your time. Have a great day
